Most real estate sales are handled by reputable people who are in the business and would not dream of defrauding unsuspecting buyers. Unfortunately, there is a small percentage of unreliable label sales.

In another case, the sale of the label was touted in the newspapers as the legacy of a 90-year-old grandmother with a lifetime of goods in the attic. When you get there you realize it's not like that and they sell junk.
Another problem with selling counterfeit real estate is sellers trying to mistake counterfeits for real. If you see a price that's too good to be true on a supposed Tiffany lamp, you can be pretty sure it's a fake.
Antique furniture is another area where scams run rampant, as most buyers don't know what to look for to confirm its authenticity. Rest assured that old furniture was not assembled with glue, staples, chipboard, or shiny screws.
It is important to educate yourself about furniture construction from time to time so you can try to determine its true value.
If possible, ask for a certificate of authenticity or receipt to confirm that the designer's work is genuine.
